 kota for adults with a substance use disorder. Currently\, EAGALA is only 
 able to be offered during summer months. With your Giving Hearts Day donat
 ion\, you can help Heartview construct a building to provide shelter for p
 atients\, staff and horses to allow the program to be offered year-round.

 a></b>\nHeartview Dickinson will use funds raised for Giving Hearts Day to
  create an outdoor area for patients. On average\, a patient stays at Hear
 tview Dickinson for 28 days. The residential treatment facility is located
  on the 4th floor of the old hospital and does not have outdoor access. Pa
 tients can only go outside when a staff member supervises a large group. S
 pending time outdoors can reduce stress\, anxiety and depression symptoms\
 , all of which are common in substance use patients. Heartview’s 4th floor
  location has direct access to an outside space on the building’s roof. In
  order for patients to use the space\, safety improvements need to be made
 \, including installing safety guards and patio flooring.
