Is there any assistance for parents who are worried about their kid’s drug and alcohol use?
Yes, there are many ways parents can prepare themselves to deal with the issues that come with adolescent drug and alcohol use. Heartview Foundation offers a program called The Parent Network that meets on Tuesdays from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The Parent Network is a group of supportive parents whose sons or daughters have experience with alcohol or other drugs. There is no fee or registration, but parents can attend whenever they wish. Weekly meetings are divided into two parts: education through speakers and videos; and support for parents who attend.
