HEARTVIEW FOUNDATION INVITES ADDICTION SPECIALISTS TO WEBINAR
Posted 11/27/17 (Mon)
(BISMARCK, ND – November 27, 2017) – Heartview Foundation is inviting area addiction specialists to attend a free live webinar on screening for Hepatitus C virus (HCV). The webinar will be held at Heartview, 101 E. Broadway, Bismarck, on Tuesday, December 12, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Registration and lunch is from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Two-thirds of people who inject drugs are infected with HCV. Half the people with HCV do not know they have the virus. A cure is possible, even for people who use drugs or are on opioid-agonist therapy.
Webinar attendees will learn how to best screen patients in the addiction care setting; analyze barriers to screening and treatment; address adherence to treatment; and prevent HCV reinfection.
To attend the webinar, RSVP to Carol Bullinger at 701-751-5706 or firstname.lastname@example.org by December 1. Those unable to attend in person can request information on how to register and attend via computer.
The webinar is jointly provided by Postgraduate Institute for Medicine (PIM) and DKBmed, LLC. Continuing education contact hours are available through PIM and the National Association of Social Workers.
