Large-Scale Remodeling Project Underway!

Heartview’s large-scale remodeling project was officially set in motion at a ground-breaking ceremony on Monday, November 1, 2010, outside the building’s south entrance. Executive Director Kurt Snyder planted the shovel and gave a brief kick-off speech followed by a blessing by Hearview chaplain Greg Runyon. The staff, alumni, patients, architects and contractors in attendance moved inside for a reception to celebrate.
The remodeling will be done in three phases, and is scheduled to be completed by late spring or early summer. Phase I, now underway, includes demolition and remodeling of approximately 25% of the building and the construction of a new entrance. Phase I is slated to be completed near the end of January. Phases II and III will be shorter, but more challenging in providing workspace for staff members.
“As the most-experienced, private, non-profit treatment center in the state of North Dakota, our building will reflect both comfort and professionalism,” says Snyder. “Our thanks go out to our donors and to the Tom and Frances Leach Foundation for making this beautiful, refurbished home possible for our patients, families, vistors and staff.”
