Volunteer

Just like any nonprofit organization, the Heartview Foundation appreciates anyone that is willing to help out. We have a variety of tasks that anyone willing to volunteer can help with.

Students/Higher Education

Heartview Foundation provides experiential opportunities in partnership with higher education institutions to participate in educational/training endeavors regarding substance use disorders. We are in partnerships with various higher education institutions from across the nation. Students are able to experience various opportunities across the programs within Heartview. To express interest, contact us.

Heartview is also a founding member of the North Dakota Training Academy for Addiction Professionals (TAAP). TAAP is committed to quality training for addiction professionals.

Various agencies across North Dakota have entered into a collaborative partnership to provide an expansive and rich training experience for individuals who are pursuing a career in addiction counseling. The program meets the licensing standards as established by law and prepares individuals for entry into the professional addiction counseling field.

Recovery Coaches

The Recovery Coach Program is a peer-to-peer support program to help clients achieve goals in recovery and in life. By being a mentor, motivator, connection to the community and ally, coaches work with patients to make the transition to a stronger recovery lifestyle.

By request, a coach is connected with a client. At that time the coach will make contact at least weekly, working with the client to identify areas of need, provide additional support and guide the client to available resources.

Recovery Coaches and clients also get together in a larger group setting to participate in sober recreation. These include activities such as Frisbee golf, movie nights, kayaking, and more.

If you would like more information about Recovery Coaches, or if you have been sober for at least one year and are interested in becoming a recovery coach, email cathyp@heartview.org, or call 701-751-5797.
