Giving Hearts Day
Donate between Jan. 13-Feb. 13 to have your donation to Heartview matched and help Heartview reach its Giving Hearts Day goal.
Bismarck- "Expand the OTP Program"
In 2021, Heartview had approximately 150 OTP patients. Due to the opioid crisis, as of Nov. 2024, that number has skyrocketed to 284, with 100 patients entering the clinic every day. The small OTP clinic is at capacity and is expected to grow, but at the building’s current size, Heartview is not able to accommodate more people.
Cando- "Raise the Barn"
Heartview Cando offers the only Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) program in North Dakota for adults with a substance use disorder. Currently, EAGALA is only able to be offered during summer months. With your Giving Hearts Day donation, you can help Heartview construct a building to provide shelter for patients, staff and horses to allow the program to be offered year-round.
Dickinson- "Project Open Skies"
Heartview Dickinson will use funds raised for Giving Hearts Day to create an outdoor area for patients. On average, a patient stays at Heartview Dickinson for 28 days. The residential treatment facility is located on the 4th floor of the old hospital and does not have outdoor access. Patients can only go outside when a staff member supervises a large group. Spending time outdoors can reduce stress, anxiety and depression symptoms, all of which are common in substance use patients. Heartview’s 4th floor location has direct access to an outside space on the building’s roof. In order for patients to use the space, safety improvements need to be made, including installing safety guards and patio flooring.
